Spark Fire is a power trio based out of Nashville, Tennessee which was active in the local rock scene between 2008-2011.
During their time at Belmont University, founding members Nick Hamilton and Sean Geraty, saw what came to be Spark Fire go through a variety of personnel and name changes before finally teaming up with John Moll, a bass player from Sewanee, TN, by way of Miami. Moll proved to be the missing link from both a musical and a personality standpoint, and during their time together the three formed a very close bond.
Their goals, if they had any "goals," were to play rock n' roll, loudly, and to have some rowdy times along the way. To this end, they achieved great success. Their live shows drew comparisons to the Stooges, due in part to the raw energy and unpredictability of front-man, Hamilton - who was one part Iggy Pop, one part Angus Young.
The band has been on hiatus since Geraty moved away in 2011, regrouping to play live only once since, in 2012. This release includes recording sessions from their early infancy, pre-Moll (Shake It For Me), straight through their years at Belmont (The Garden) and beyond.
